TONI IN YOUR TOWN: Atkins Builds Momentum in Yolo and Sutter Counties
YOLO & SUTTER COUNTIES, CALIFORNIA — On days three and four of her nine-day statewide tour, “Toni in Your Town,” Democratic leader and gubernatorial candidate Toni Atkins made stops across Yolo and Sutter counties, highlighting her deep commitment to California’s working families, rural communities, and democratic values.
On Friday in Woodland, Atkins met with local farmers to discuss the agricultural industry — a cornerstone of California’s economy, supporting 1.5 million livelihoods. In Winters, joined by Assembly Majority Leader Cecilia Aguiar-Curry, she met with small business owners and local officials to discuss housing, health care, and economic equity.

“I’ve always looked at the work I’ve done from the perspective of someone who grew up without housing, without health care, without clean water,” Atkins said. “I want every Californian to have the same shot I had — but right now, too many people are being left behind. Housing is out of reach, and health care access is still deeply unequal.”
On Saturday, Atkins visited the Davis Farmers Market and met with West Sacramento firefighters, underscoring her support for essential workers and under-resourced services. That night, she headlined the Feather River Democrats' Annual Fundraiser in Yuba City, where she delivered a fiery call to defend democracy.

“Republicans in Washington lick Trump’s boots all day — just look at what’s happening in Texas,” Atkins said. “GOP lawmakers there are scheming to redraw their maps to create five new House seats, all to appease Trump. Let’s call it what it is: a full-blown assault on our democracy. And that’s exactly why California has to lead — and why I’m running to be your next Governor.”
